Let’s get started.

10. Jeep Liberty

Jeep has a real issue on their hands. Die hard loyalists who love going off-road want a vehicle that will allow them to do just that. On the other hand, manufactures are trying to take a more modern approach to their new vehicle and making more “highway friendly”. The 2014 Jeep Liberty will be able to hit seventy miles per hour on the highway, give off minimal amounts of noise, and have many of the modern amenities that you find in most cars. And should you ever need to take it through thick terrain, it comes with all-wheel drive.

9. Hyundai Veloster Turbo

At this point, the Veloster is a vehicle that is lacking the credit that it deserves. However, once the 201 horse powered Hyundai Veloster Turbo hits the streets, many people are going to give it a second look. This car is as serious about performance as you can get and the overall design of it is superb.

8. Dodge Dart R/T

Easily one of the quickest breeds of the front-wheel-drive dart models going on sale is the Dodge Dart R/T. This car sits on a Fiat chassis that is operational under fully independent suspension. And not to mention, this car is fast. It is powered by a 184-hop, 2.4 liter engine that allows it go quickly accelerate and gain top speed in not time. This car is expected to sell for about $24,000 in mid-October, the expected release date.

With a V-10, 640 horse powered engine, the SRT Viper of 2013 is the epitome of speed. It has an ultra-light body that is constructed from carbon fiber, aluminum, and magnesium. This super has an estimated price of $100,000 too. There are a few other cars that have the capabilities that the SRT Viper does, but they are far cheaper. There is no doubt that this model is going to change the game forever.

6. Ram 1500

When we think about the top cars of 2013, we hardly think that a truck would be able to make the list. However, the 2013 Ram 1500 is an exception. For $22,000 this vehicle has it all. 4. Subaru WRX

This car is expected to come out in early 2013 and will sell for a little over $27,000. This is a car that will sit a lot lower than most of its cousins and it will also be more compact. The lower engine has many advantages; one of them is better handling around curves and corners. The Subaru WRX has tremendous balance and will prove to be a nice, sporty vehicle for a lot of drivers.

While the name suggests a later date, the Jaguar F-Type Roadster is expected to hit the road in the summer of 2013. This car has eight speeds, is automatic, and is loaded with start-stop technology.

2. Audi A3

This vehicle is expected to launch in the middle of 2013 and will sell for about $30,000. For those who don’t know, this car will be based on the VW Golf. This is a very powerful car with a lot of traction and handling.

Gone are the ideas that a split rear window and turbo charged, V-6 engine could appear in a car. Now, it has become a reality. The Chevy Corvette C7 is a sleek design and will debut in Detroit Fall 2013. Selling for $50,000 and up, it has 440hp and a 6.0 liter engine. Pixar has always succeeded in making creative, imaginary and story telling films which have earned a lot of interest for the viewers. Among the 12 films they have produced so far, below are the top 10 according to the different ratings.

10. Bugs life

This film involves the story of an ant Flik who is a misfit in his colony. A bunch of grasshoppers come to his colony named as anthill and they take all the food that the ants have gathered for themselves. However, one day Flik accidentally drops the offered seeds down the river. With this being done, grasshoppers get furious and give ants one last chance to collect food until fall. But sure enough Flik had some other plans in his mind, he decides to fight against those grasshoppers. So, he manages to assemble a team which is willing to fight against them but is more like a circus crew than some real warriors. The landscapes in this film are really very beautifully crafted. The movie is very interesting with a creative story.

9. Monsters Inc.

This movie depicts the insides of the monster world, the monsters who are basically famous for scaring the children at night by showing up from under their beds or closets. By scaring the children, monsters generate their city’s power. This movie revolves around the story of Sulley, an employee of Monsters Inc., who is the champion in scaring the children along with his partner Mike. Together they form the best team only until Sulley encounters this little girl who is surprisingly not afraid of this huge monster Sulley. Sulley forms a very special relation with the little girl and protects her from other evil monsters. The character of one eyed Mike is quite funny and I giggled everytime he uttered a word. Indeed a good entertaining movie.

8. The Incredibles

Imagine a family with each member possessing a superpower, eventually things may get a little bit weird because every member has to fight a bit within the family. Anyways this movie involves the story of Mr.Incredible a.k.a Bob and his wife Helen. Both have been fighting the evils and saving people’s lives but after fifteen years they try to settle down in suburbs with civilian identities. They both get blessed with three children Dash, Jack and Violet who too posses secret superpowers. They all try to live a normal life until they are assigned to a mission which involves efforts from all the family members in order to save the world from destruction. I personally liked the action scenes, though they were a bit violent but all the characters had their unique superpowers. A very interesting action animated movie and its also a must watch.

7. Ratatouille

Ever imagined that the tiny creature that scares most of us can cook really well? Well, that’s Ratatouille and it’s cute. This story is about a rat Remy who has a dream of becoming a great french chef despite his family wishes. And of course it’s never easy for a pest to achieve a huge dream. But somehow fate gives him a chance to become chef in a well known french restaurant. The characters, view and animation clearly shows a true culture of French civilization and also shows how difficult is a life of a chef working for a renowned restaurant especially in France. A very interesting and emotional movie that should not be missed.

6. Toy Story 2

One of the best sequels ever made, in this story Woody gets abducted by the toy collector who wants to sell him while Andy is away at summer camp. Buzz, along with his other toy friends, sets off to a mission to find his friend Woody. The characters are well constructed in this movie and are given a bigger and a better role. If you are a toy story fan, you will definitely not want to miss this.

5. Finding Nemo

As the title suggests this movie is all about finding Nemo.  Nemo is the son of Marlin, the widower clown fish who loses his son to the humans when he ventures to the open sea. So in this adventurous movie the Marlin sets out to search for his son along with another fish Dory. Together they set out on a long journey facing different problems and creatures till they reach the dentist’s office in Ssydney where his son is. The ocean view has been set up very well and this movie attracts both the parents and kids in a way. It is definitely a must watch adventurous movie.

4. Up

This is a story of 78 year old Carl, who sets out on a journey to the lost land in South America, to fulfil the promise he made with his late wife Ellie. He somehow using his creativity ties thousands of balloons to his house and yeah he makes it fly!  He then flies off towards South America. With him is an annoying talkative chubby boy scout Russell, a talking dog and a bird named Kevin who causes him a lot of trouble along the journey.  Carl is very energetic, motivated and bold enough to achieve his wife’s dream and his character makes this story adventurous.

3. Toy Story

This story is about the two main characters Woody and Buzz light year. Woody has always been the favourite toy for Andy, until he gets a new toy Buzz lightyear. The story then revolves around the jealousy and competition between the two toys, each one of whom tries to prove he is better. The conflict between the two takes them to the new understanding of friendship, hatred and jealousy. This movie is really entertaining although the main focus is on Woody and Buzz lightyear but it has got everything to be a good movie.

However, they have mistakenly been sent to a day-care center instead of the attic. It’s upto Woody to convince the rest and escape the evil clutches of  day-care center. This movie is well developed in terms of graphics, characters and animation. It has it all that you need to declare this as the best Pixar movie till date.

Top 10 War Movies of All Time

Since the dawn of modern film, the War Movie has been a centric pillar of popular cinema. Acting not only to entertain profusely with action both endless and intense, War Movies strike their own specific chord with most- portraying the heartbreak and grief of this truly human institution. As one of the most saturated genres, highlighting a mere 10 standout offerings is in itself, a tremendous tragedy.

10. The Hurt Locker

The most recent movie on my list, The Hurt Locker is an adventure into the most modern of world conflicts. Concentrating on the exploits of a Baghdad based US Explosive Ordinance Disposal team and their danger hungry commander; it is an insight into the daily plagues faced by service men and women serving in the Middle East- some of which are more obvious than others. Although featuring less combat action than others further down the list, this six Oscar winning piece does remarkably well to keep viewers both enthralled and horrified.

9. Gods and Generals

The second in a two part Civil War epic, Gods and Generals is based mostly on Confederate General Thomas ‘Stonewall’ Jackson (portrayed by Stephen Lang) and the role played by him and his famous ‘First Brigade’. Capturing this most brutal of wars with a mixture of lengthy authentic dialogue and equally endowed realistic battle scenes, the movie follows the conflict from its conception in 1861 all the way through to the eve of Gettysburg in the summer of 1863. Based on a novel by Jeffrey Shaara, the film also features Jeff Daniels and Robert Duvall (as General Lee) and runs for a lengthy 214 minutes.

8. Master and Commander: The far side of the World

Gripping historical drama centred on the captain and crew of HMS Victory circa 1805. At the height of Napoleons power/madness, the French are in pursuit of domination over the world’s oceans- the only thing in their way being the grit and determination of British Naval crews. In this case personified by Captain Jack Aubrey (Russel Crowe), an experienced and well respected commander, Jack and his lads are charged with the pursuit of a French privateer named ‘Acheron’- with orders to ‘Sink, Burn, or take her a prize’. However, the Acheron soon proves to be a worthy opponent- a revelation which leads to an intense game of cat + mouse, but with cannons and swords. Great fun.

7. Black Hawk Down

Furious fire-fighting drama based on the events leading up to and encompassing the Battle of Mogadishu, following a team of Delta Force Rangers tasked with a snatch and run mission in the heart of a civil war torn Somalia capital. Based on true events, the film depicts some of the most bloody and helpless scenarios in modern war- as the mission goes wrong leaving many Rangers not only cut off from base, but from each other. Ridley Scott directs an all-star cast including Josh Hartnett, Ewan McGregor, Eric Bana and Tom Sizemore to capture one of the most notable disasters in recent US military practice.

6. Braveheart

Loosely (very loosely) based on some of the events of the first war of Scottish independence in the early middle ages (1296-1328 I believe..) Mel Gibson’s modern masterpiece documents the life of Scottish freedom fighter William Wallace. From an opening 30 minutes which shows a young William lose his father and brother as a result of their rebellion towards English crown and rule, to some of the most epic battle scenes of all time featuring a fully grown William (Gibson) slicing Englishmen clean in half with a giant sword, the film hardly lets up. Of course there are the tangents of love, loyalty and inevitably betrayal, however these subplots merely act to supplement the passion of the rousing battle scenes, at least in my opinion.

5. Schindlers List

Where exactly does one draw the line between WWII and holocaust movies? The answer is simple- right here. Steven Spielberg is indeed the king of on screen pain and this epic tracking the deeds of kind hearted Nazi party member Oskar Schindler (that reads strangely), is a journey of emotion, devotion and human nature both angelic and vile. Based on a true story, the plot follows Oskar Schindler (Liam Neeson), a business man seeking success in wartime Poland. His desire to profit from grief soon flips on its head however as the horrors of the holocaust are fully realised. Soon Schindler finds himself losing profit at the cost of saving Jews, many of whom he has come to admire and respect. Schindler’s need to keep favour with fellow Nazi’s also adds dimension, with the scrutiny of SS Lieutenant/super villain Amon Goeth (depicted inspirationally by Ralf Fiennes) never too far away.

4. Zulu

The old-timer of my list, Zulu is the tale of Rorke’s Drift- a battle which occurred between the British Army and the Zulu’s in 1879. Starring a very young Michael Caine, Stanley Baker and Ulla Jacobsson the movie tracks the operations of a Welsh regiment occupying a missionary station close to Zulu territory. Upon hearing that a much larger, more battle-ready Zulu force are heading their way- the men decide to stand instead of flee and begin to fortify their position. A great battle of course then ensues, with wave after wave of Zulu warrior coming at the tiring defenders. As well as taking on this famous battle, Zulu tackles the issue of the post-Victorian class system within British society of the time and how it transpired into the ever modernising military. All in all a well-rounded war feature.

3. Platoon

Vietnam, despite being a war of much unrest and controversy, has established itself as a very attractive conflict amongst film makers. Oliver Stone’s Platoon is arguably one of the best ‘nam movies ever, encapsulating the essence of the war in an objective yet hands-on manner. It captures perfectly how many soldiers were too emerged in wars amongst and even with themselves to worry about their supposed enemy as well. Doing well to capture the despair of the draftees and volunteers alike, correct emphasis is also placed on the hardship endured at this time by the civilians caught in the middle of it all. An excellent cast featuring Charlie Sheen, Willem Dafoe, Tom Berenger and John C. McGinley is supplemented by awe-inspiring locations and a famous soundtrack to make this a very worthwhile 2 hours.

2. All Quiet on the Western Front

This remake of the 1930 movie of the same name sees a group of German schoolboys being conditioned for, and ultimately thrown straight into, the horrors of the First World War. The movie displays the willingness with which this barbaric conflict appropriated its millions of victims- usually young men willing to fight, suffer then die for causes mostly unbeknown to them. From receiving inspiring yet clearly deluding speeches from their nationalist teacher, young classmates run off to join the Imperial Army. Through their training right up until their first encounters with a hardened French enemy, the men undergo the type of horrors usually associated with the Great War, all the while losing sight of the true intentions of it all.

1. Saving Private Ryan

This film tops the list on the grounds that it depicts war in the most literal of senses. Opening with that famous half hour long scene of slaughter and chaos depicting Omaha beach on D-Day, the movie goes on to follow a group of soldiers led by a cryptic yet intelligent Army Captain (Tom Hanks) as they make their way through Nazi occupied Normandy in search of an airborne Private. The reason for their mission? Private Ryan (Matt Damon) is the last remaining brother of four, the other three having been claimed already by the conflict. Marrying the contrasts of grim warfare with a near perfect insight to the bonds formed between soldiers, the film emits hope and misery in equal measure, as all good war films should.
